Develop interview skills and prepare for the interview event (where they earn their internship)
Student interns apply their skills in real-world settings while building career readiness:
Work at a business/organization in Santa Fe's top industries
Gain hands-on experience in a career-focused learning environment
Practice time management and workplace accountability
Practice strengthening communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills
Practice being a young professional in the workforce
Receive support from WBL staff through site visits and check-ins
Continue building their Capstone Career Portfolio with workplace evidence and reflections

Santa Fe Public Schools' (SFPS) Work-Based Learning (WBL) Program is a structured internship program that fosters collaboration between SFPS high schools and local high-value employers. It provides junior and senior students with high-quality, career-oriented internships that offer meaningful, hands-on experiences in real-world settings. These internships are designed to equip students with valuable skills, professional connections, and industry-specific knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared for future careers and post-secondary success.
